General Purpose of Role:

The Credit Controller will be accountable to the Manager of the Credit Union for the progressive implementation of credit control procedures in consultation with the Manager and the Credit Control Committee in order to minimize the number of accounts in arrears.

Responsibilities include:

Implementing the Credit Control Policy
Managing accounts in arrears and recovery of bad debts
Communication with Members
Perform quarterly Loan Book Reviews
Making recommendations regarding account re-scheduling & write offs
Communication with solicitors and debt collection agencies
Regular evening meetings with Credit Control Committee
Preparation of Monthly Reports to the Board Of Directors
Attending Court Hearings

The successful candidate will have:

A minimum of two years experience in a similar role in a credit union or financial services environment.
Ability to work on own initiative
Excellent IT skills including Word and Excel
Excellent communication skills written and oral
A relevant qualification (e.g.) (QFA/CUA)
The position involves working a five day week, including Saturdays.
