BE WARY OF COUNTERFEIT NOTES

WARNING – There are currently some FAKE €50 Notes in circulation and it can be very hard to tell the difference.

Please take a few moments to feel, examine and tilt the notes to ensure they are genuine. This will prevent fraudsters circulating their fakes. Identify obvious security features, watermarks, raised print and the holographic patch before accepting the notes.

Please see below pictures for security features on the new style €50 note.Things to look out for on a real note:
WATERMARK: When held up to the light, a picture and the value of the banknote become visible.
COLOUR- SHIFTING INK: When tilted, the value numerals change colour from purple to olive green or brown.
SECURITY THREAD: When held up to the light, a dark line becomes visible.
FOIL PATCH: When tilted, a hologram shows a picture and the value of the banknote.
